Nick Williams

My mini bio ...
  • I became a civil servant in Cardiff for 2 years after research in Aberdeen, in Planning Services Division.  Excruciatingly boring
  • 1976 - Lectureship in Geography Dept at Aberdeen University.  Great to begin with, but experience steadily and acceleratingly deteriorated
  • 2000 - Engineered my escape from academia and had a second career as sole trader consultant (housing, planning, green building).  Enjoyed this tremendously, never gave universities a backward glance.
  • 2007 - Retired at 57, have loved very minute of retirement.  Live in Auchenblae, a village in the depths of rural Aberdeenshire
  • Julia Bickerstaffe and I divorced many years ago. I have been with Nicky for 17 years.  She has 4 grown up children and 6 grandchildren who keep us busy
